During Chinese New Year, my family and I went to my grandparent's house. We were a little late and all my relatives were already there when we reached as we had all agreed to meet at my grandparent's house. We stayed at my grandparent's house from morning till night. As I have not seen some of my uncle, aunties and cousins for so long, I felt shy and a little afraid when I met them as I am not really close to them and can only see them during Chinese New Year. But after some time when I got to know my cousins better, I also discovered that we had a lot of things in common. Soon, it was lunch time and we went to a restaurant and ordered all sorts of delicacies, but before they served us our lunch, they served us a dish called "yu sheng" as it is a tradition to eat it every New Year. After our lunch, we went to a shopping centre to watch some people performing the lion dance. We then went back to my grandparent's house and stayed there until night time and we had our reunion dinner there. For the rest of the night, my cousins and I chatted about out hobbies and interests while the adults played mahjong throughout the night. During the last few days of the Chinese New Year, I went with my friends to visit my other friends' houses, and I received a lot of red packets :) Sadly, Chinese New Year ended very quickly and soon I had to go back to school. I was very happy on how I spent my Chinese New Year this year as I had become closer to all of my cousins and also got to know them better. I think that Chinese New Year is a time for you to spend time with your family and also to get to know your relatives better.
